Construction work began recently on proposed storm sewer improvements within the city of Libertyville. The improvements include 2,521 linear feet of storm sewer ranging in size from 12-inch diameter to 24-inch diameter along with 15 manholes and intakes to improve drainage within the city of Libertyville. Also included is nearly 8,000 linear feet of roadway ditch construction to enhance drainage.

The city of Libertyville has a very flat topography and has been plagued in the past by localized flooding which has caused frequent property damage. French-Reneker-Associates assisted in the preparation of a Community Development Block Grant Public Facilities Application that was successful in securing grant funds for this project.

Construction
on the $170,000 construction contract is being done by Rock Kreek Spread of
West Point, Iowa. Work is
scheduled for completion in the spring of 2003.
